FC Dallas will try to put the wheels back on the wagon after the bye week. As usual, Guardia Roja will be there helping out the cause from the top of section 129. Stop by and say hi.

In conjunction with the game, the Club Social Deportivo Colombiano (CLUSODECOL) will be hosting “Colombian Fest” to celebrate Colombia’s independance day from noon to 11 pm in the South Blue Lot. The event is free to Guardia Roja members. $3 Cover to those non-members who already bought game tickets. More details about the event at http://www.myspace.com/clusodecol

The South Blue Lot is our usual parking spot, and I’m not sure if we will be able park there. Our main man Kevin is looking into this. I will post the update as soon as we hear from him. Our usual parking spot will not be available. We can still park in the South Blue Lot. It just has to be north of the tunnel.

While the game didn’t go the way we were hoping. Estas “bellezas” helped ease the pain a little with their flirtatious drumming techniques.

Pizza Hut Park

For the third year in a row FC Dallas meets the Charleston Battery in the USOC. The last couple of years Dallas has had to travel to Blackbaud stadium and go well past regulation to eek out victories via the pk shootout two years ago and in extra time last year. This year Charleston should prove to be a difficult opponent once again as they are leading the USL with a record of 7W 3L 3T.

The “United Front”, consisting of the Inferno, La Raza Latina, and Guardia Roja, will be making a special US Open Cup encore presentation in section 130-131. We had a great time at the last Open Cup game versus Miami. It should be even better this time around.

He played in 3 halves this week, and he scored in each one of them. He even turned up the drama waiting for stoppage time each and every time before he did it.

Like Javier told his wife on Friday night: - “Baby, come here and kiss me. I will make you see fireworks!”. Abe Thompson made La Guardia Roja and every FC Dallas fan see fireworks this week.

US Open Cup match at Pizza Hut Park
Tuesday July 1

The Miami FC Blues (3W-6L-7T) are tied for 7th in the USL-1 Division (the second tier of American professional soccer, just below MLS), so they’ll come into the game as underdogs. But the Open Cup is known throughout its 95-year history for many upsets, so there is no way anyone can assume our beloved FC Dallas are a cinch to advance to the 4th round.

The “United Front” will make its premiere, as Guardia Roja and the Inferno will join forces in supporting FCD. For this game, both groups will be in section 131 130 near the northeast corner of PHP, instead of our normal spot in section 129.

This is not a normal match. Houston play rough. They will push your team around. The ref wont do shit. Kinnear will out coach you. We have never won in this stink hole.

I hope you have learned the players names by now, maybe used some ‘name games’ during practice sessions. Use a cheat sheet.

This is not a warm up. This is not an ‘observation’ match. This is FCD vs Dynamo.

We may lose, but it sure as hell better not be via coaching error. I don’t know your motivational style but you’d better have our guys chewing on broken glass and carving ‘Die Houston!’ into their forearms like prison tats.

Coach, you can win and make your mark on Thursday. Or you can face a long uphill struggle to win the hearts and minds of FCD fans for the rest of the ‘08 campaign.
